MSF tops QMile’s 6th leg

-
It was another successful run for the Shell-Prospeed’s Quartermile Championship Drag Racing last July 21 at the Manila Harbour Center as 58 cars participated, with entries coming from as far as Cagayan and Baguio.

Despite the unpredictable weather, the sixth leg of the race saw the country’s top four drag teams burn rubber to accumulate championship points. Topping the race was MSF Autoworks with 174 points, followed by Bolt-on Performance (128), Bagspeed (122) and ATI-Racing (110).

The pro class category was ruled by Marvin Montecillo of Redline Racing who registered the fastest time of the day at 13.67 seconds. Behind him were Ernest Bato of San Jacinto Racing and Alex Perez of DMF Motorsport.

In the fun classes, the big winners were led by Montecillo again when he captured the Quick 8 category at 13.8 seconds. The All Motor category was topped by Joseph Querimit of Bagspeed who clocked 15.4 seconds.

The All Honda category became a shoot-out between Michael dela Cruz of Bolt-on Performance and Madison Chan of MSF. The All Mitsubishi, on the other hand, was dominated by Vincent Lim of MSF.

The Quartermile Race was made possible with the help of Shell, Shell Velocity, Shell-Citibank Mastercard, ATI Diesel, ZF, 89.9 WTM, 99.5 RT, 88.3 Citylite, 103.54 K Lite, Autoindustriya.com and Eibach. It is sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines and is recognized by the National Hot Rod Association of the United States.

The seventh leg is set this Saturday, August 4.
