Night race to cap Rally Sprint

Sixteen Media Challenge veterans comprising four crews will try to outdo each other for this year’s championship title in the last round of the City Rally Sprint set this Saturday at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in General Trias, Cavite.

Scrutineering of the rally cars starts at 2 p.m. at the Petron South Super Hi-way station. Flag-off ceremonies will be at 5 p.m., after which the competitors will be in transit to the site.

This night rally, which is expected to run from 8 p.m. till midnight, will be the ultimate test of the rally driving techniques which the crews have gained over the past Media Challenge competition seasons.

The series leader, Team Orange with Marvin Tort (Business World), Aris Ilagan (Manila Bulletin), Tammy Mendoza (The Philippine Star) and Arnel Doria (Honda Cars), is expected to defend their one point lead over Team Black’s 14 points.

Team Black is composed of Andy Leuterio (Gadgets Magazine), Ron Delos Reyes (Auto Review), Jess Garcia (DZRH) and Brian Afuang (The Philippine Star). In third place with 12 championship points is Team White composed of Anjo Perez (Manila Bulletin), Tintin Reyes (Honda Cars), Arnold Belleza (Business World) and Erle Sebastian (Today).
