A much-awaited gathering to honor women who epitomize the best of the Filipina spirit – compassionate, graceful, and socially responsible – was reently held at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in New Seaside Drive, Paran?aque City. Under the indefatigable leadership of Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) chairman Antonio Ma. J. Guerrero and trustee Dr. Kelly Salvador alongside Best Dressed Women of the Philippines (BDWP) chairperson Angola consul Helen Ong with the selection and organizing committee composed of your columnist as adviser and project head Roselle Rebano, the glitz and glamour event paid homage to 2018 Best Dressed Women of the Philippines style icons Yoli B. Ayson and Darlene Arden?a Go, and awardees Joy Jabile-Ejercito, Maru Go, Mandaluyong City Lone District representative Queenie Gonzales, Malou Tamayo Martinez, Tim Tam Ong, Merci Poblador Padolina, Bettina Nicole Reyes, Malabon City vice may- or Jeannie Sandoval, Krisha Almeda-Sia, Mary Carla Cristine Reyes-Sia, Jasslyn Joanne Tan, Michelle Copok Tan, Dr. Mary Jane “MJ” Torres, DIWA Partylist representative Emmeline Aglipay Villar and Faith Valerinne Tan Wee. Another highlight of the evening was the awarding of the tireless men and women behind BDWP – the members of the selection and organizing committee – who for years have worked behind the scenes to bring this initiative to life. Proceeds of the fund-rais- ing event were all for the ben- efit of the Philippine Cancer Society, which has been at the forefront of pro- viding financial aid to countless under- privileged cancer patients as well as encouraging them through its numer- ous mutual support groups. Congratulations to the Philippine Cancer Society and Best Dressed Women of the Philippines for another year of giving back!
