It was a well-attended launch as Lexus unveiled its all-new, sharply styled luxury compact crossover Lexus NX at the Lexus Manila showroom. Over 440 guests that included prominent Lexus customers, business and media partners as well as key people from Toyota Motor Corp., Toyota Motor Philippines, Toyota Motor Asia Pacific, and the Toyota dealership network were treated to a play of lights, club music and good food. Seen at the event were Lexus Manila Inc. chairman Alfred Ty and president Daniel Isla, Toyota Motor Philippines president Michinobu Sugata, and Lexus Asia Pacific, VP Paul Carol. The NX is Lexus’ first entry into the luxury compact crossover segment. Lexus NX chief engineer Takeaki Kato said the luxury car has been conceived under the development concept of “Premium Urban Sports Gear” as an edgy, emotional design intended to appeal to new customers who lead urban and active lifestyles. “Much like high-quality sports watches, bikes and fashion, the NX represents the ultimate in premium urban sports gear,” he said.
