Marco Polo Plaza Cebu bags plum award

BUSINESS CHIC - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

Cebu City’s finest, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), recently won the 2013 Hotel of the Year award, besting all other Marco Polo hotels in the Asia-Pacific region. Marco Polo Hotels, Philippines area general manager and MPPC general manager Hans Hauri received the award from Marco Polo Hotels president Eric Waldburger during the 2014 General Managers Conference held in Hong Kong, while Cathay International Resources Corp. chairman Alfred Ty received the trophy during the celebratory cocktails held at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. The Hotel of the Year award is given to the hotel that exemplifies excellence in guest service, operational standards, associate management, and financial results. MPPC showed excellent service, passion and heart to its guests even in the midst of the calamities that struck the Visayas last year.

Eric Waldburger lauded the Philippine- based property as it “displayed a consistent distinction in service and quality,” setting the standards for our entire company. This is the second time Marco Polo Plaza Cebu has received the Hotel of the Year award; the first time was in 2006, the year it opened. The Marco Polo Hotel group’s properties under development across Asia include Marco

Polo Davao and the recently opened Marco Polo Manila. Congratulations to Cathay International Resources Corp. chairman Alfred Ty, Marco Polo Hotels, Philippines area general manager and MPPC general manager Hans Hauri and their Marco Polo Plaza Cebu team!
