A ‘doctor’ named Henry
Adding another feather under his cap is the brilliant Henann Group of Resorts (formerly Boracay Regency Group) chairman Henry Chusuey as he was conferred with a degree of Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa by his alma mater, University of San Agustin in Iloilo City. The honorary degree conferment was approved through Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Resolution No. 596-2013 citing Chusuey for “his significant contributions in jobs creation and to the government’s revenue generation program; tourism development and promotion; education, disaster response and peace and order; and health and environment protection.†Dr. Chusuey was conferred with the said degree by University president Rev. Fr. Frederick Comendador, University of San Agustin Board of Trustees chairman Very Rev. Fr. Eusebio Berdon and CHED regional director Dr. Isabela Mahler. Meanwhile, a grand dinner party at the Royal Garden Hall Convention Center was sponsored by Dr. Chusuey’s loving family – wife Anna Lissa, sons Henann Group of Resorts executive vice president Alfons and marketing manager Karl and daughter Christina – and was well-attended by the closest friends and colleagues of the honoree. Everyone was treated to a plethora of mouthwatering dishes and overflowing drinks. Adding more color to the celebration were the wonderful dance numbers of the students of Sun Yat Sen High School and members of University of San Agustin Alumni Association and the spectacular performance of the country’s one and only Concert Queen Pops Fernandez. Congratulations Dr. Henry Chusuey!
