Everything’s looking good at 40

Prominent and multi-awarded architect and urban planner Felino “Jun” Palafox, Jr. recently celebrated his 40th year in the profession one special night at the Ayala Museum. On display was a photo exhibit covering the life and works of Jun including his snapshots as a seminarian in Christ the King. The occasion also coincided with the 37th wedding anniversary of Jun and his ever-supportive wife Wilma. Well-wishers include US ambassador, His Excellency Harry Thomas, Jr., Canadian ambassador, His Excellency Christopher Thornley, Finnish ambassador, His Excellency Heikki Hannikainen, Spanish ambassador, His Excellency Jorge Domecq, SM Prime Holdings president Hans Sy, Senator Manny Villar, and United Architects of the Philippines president Sonny Rosal. At night’s end, Jun thanked all his clients, friends and his second family at Palafox Associates, the architectural firm he founded in 1989. Palafox Associates ranked 89th in the “World’s Top 100 Architectural Firms” of UK-based magazine Building Design. The firm was also listed as the 8th top architectural firm under the Leisure market sector. Congratulations, Jun!

Sunny life stories

Five inspiring, original works of some of the country’s acclaimed digital filmmakers were given an exclusive screening at Resorts World Manila recently. Hosted by Sun Life Financial-Philippines, the “Sun Shorts” all centered on the theme “Life’s Brighter Under the Sun.” Trailers of three regional shorts were also previewed during the Sun Shorts Gala Night at Resorts World Manila.  Seen at the affair were Sun Life Financial-Philippines president and chief executive officer Riza Mantaring, Sun Life Grepa Financial Inc. president and chief executive officer Naresh Krishnan and Sun Life Financial ambassador and literacy advocate Piolo Pascual.  The future is uncertain so it pays to secure what one has now.
