Loud applause and long gazes from the crowd greeted the all-new Lexus GS 350 and GS 350 F Sport during its launch led by Lexus Manila, Inc. chairman Alfred Ty and president Daniel Isla over a cozy dinner at their classy showroom at The Fort. Easily noticeable is the signature spindle grille’s new edgier design which is more than just a makeover. Improved rear cabin space, a knee airbag for both driver and front passenger, and seat-mounted side airbags for rear seat occupants are just a few of the premium details of the high-performance sedan. Also unveiled was the new top-of-the-line Lexus SUV — the LX570! For the King of Luxury SUVs, the looks have been enhanced but the core of product excellence remains. And, sooner than later, expect the hybrid version — the GS450h — which will complete the lineup of the GS series. Thank you, Alfred Ty and Lexus Manila for bringing these toys for the big boys!

Writing with a Legend

One of the leading brands of fine writing instruments Sheaffer recently unveiled its coveted pen lines over cocktails at The Gallery, Greenbelt 5. Sheaffer Asia general manager Alejandro Rodriguez was joined by local pen enthusiasts and a group of serious vintage and modern pen collectors and users. Seen at the launch were Palanca awardee and professor Butch Dalisay, Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Xandra Padilla Ramos, Trina Alindogan and Daphne Oseña-Paez. May the art of writing with pen and ink continue to flourish!

A gathering of the country’s top pawnbrokers

It was one exceptional evening as the most distinguished personalities in the pawnshop industry recently joined hands for the national convention and election of the Chamber of Pawnbrokers of the Philippines, Inc. (CPPI) at the Quezon City Sports Club. With CPPI’s hardworking president honorary consul to Zambia Louie Ablaza leading the way, the monumental get together was filled with brilliant ideas and great camaraderie among the members of the organization. The annual gathering was highlighted by the awarding of the Pawnbroker of the Year to Jean Henri Lhuillier. Among those in attendance during the event was Department of Interior and Local Government secretary Jesse Robredo. Congratulations to CPPI! Here’s to more success in the years to come!
