Six years of Go Negosyo

The successful entrepreneurial advocacy founded by young industrialist Joey Concepcion celebrated its sixth year anniversary recently. Coinciding with his birthday, a thanksgiving night was hosted by Joey for the entire Go Negosyo growing community of advocates, entrepreneurs, partners and friends. Go Negosyo promotes entrepreneurship to alleviate poverty and as an alternative to unemployment and migration Despite a heavy downpour, the ensuing flood and heavier traffic that night, political and business bigwigs were in attendance—Trade and Industry secretary Gregory Domingo, GMA Network, Inc. chairman and chief executive officer, lawyer Felipe Gozon, PLDT chairman Manny Pangilinan and Unilever chief executive officer Fernando Fernandez, to name a few. For his work in Go Negosyo, Joey was among the four Filipinos included in Forbes Asia Magazine’s 2011 list of 48 Heroes of Philanthropy. Congratulations, Joey! Mabuhay, Go Negosyo!

New hotel GM

Ortigas Centre’s finest five-star deluxe hotel EDSA Shangri-La, Manila announces the appointment of Henry Lee as its new general manager. Lee will oversee the continuing success and growth of the hotel situated in the financial district of Mandaluyong City. A Singaporean national, Lee has worked in various capacities at different Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, even in Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in Cebu! Seen at the handover cocktails were outgoing general manager Sinan Yilmaz, Makati Shangri-La general manager and area manager Reto Klauser, Metrobank Foundation president Chito Sobrepeña, Trader’s Hotel Manila general manager Gordon Aeria and other executives and VIP guests of the famous Hong Kong-based hotel chain.
