MANILA, Philippines - In the country, some 26 direct selling companies distributing cosmetics, nutritional supplements, and apparel compete with the ever-expanding number of brands lining store shelves.
Pete Dela Cruz, general manager of NU Skin Enterprises Philippines Inc. believes, however, that the direct-selling industry in the country is vibrant and not at all crowded.
“When you have a person-to-person interaction, you can demonstrate the products,” he said during the recent launch of the firm’s new ageLOC and Galvanic Spa skin care lines. “The market is a huge market, so I don’t think it’s crowded.”
NU Skin Philippines is a subsidiary of Nu Skin Enterprises Inc., a US-based firm. It started operating in the Philippines in 1998 and is the 6th subsidiary to open in Asia. Worldwide, it is the 23rd distributor of Nu Skin and Pharmex products.
Nu Skin’s Asian markets include Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
NU Skin Philippines has cornered the market for premium quality anti-aging products.
The mother firm itself was formed in 1984 and has since then been engaged in manufacturing cosmetics and personal care products.
NU Skin Philippines recently launched its new ageLOC skin care line and ageLOC Galvanic Spa System II.
AgeLOC Transformation is a daily skin care system that targets the source of aging by restoring the so-called Youth Gene clusters back to its youthful patterns of activity. It consists of the ageLOC Gentle Cleanse and Tone, ageLOC Future Serum, ageLOC Radiant Day SPF 22, and ageLOC Transforming Night.
The ageLOC Galvanic Spa set, on the other hand, is a weekly treatment designed to complement a daily skin regimen. It comes with the ageLOc Face Conductor, an electronic device designed to work with a pre-treatment gel and a treatment gel.
The Pre-treatment gel binds to facial impurities and relaxes pores, at the same time, dissolving excess oil.
The Treatment gel removes the impurities targeted in the pre-treatment process.
Pharmex flagship products, on the other hand include the TRA weight management system, a nutritional supplement series that addresses all causes of obesity—recognized as one of the leading causes of aging. It works by controlling food cravings, fat storage, stress, and increasing metabolism.
Nu Skin currently distributes more than 200 products in the anti-aging, personal care and nutritional supplement categories.
The enterprise claims to pay the highest percentage of sales revenue in distribution commissions — at 42 percent — of all direct selling companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
Nu Skin Philippines has business address at 15/F Octagon Center, 41 San Miguel Ave., Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Interested parties may also refer to www.nuskin.com.ph
