Business As Usual

Stronger at 90

BUSINESS CHIC - Johnny Litton -

The legendary construction and hardware supply company Cobankiat Hardware recently celebrated nine decades of continued and always improving service to the Filipino people by providing world-class products as well as employment to many individuals. It was an evening filled with class and elegance that started with A William Tell Overture performance by the Manila Symphony Orchestra that welcomed the guests to the authentic Chinese-themed hall of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. After 90 years of existence, Cobankiat Hardware, led by the hardworking and visionary Johnny Cobankiat with wife Aida and children Charlene, Jan Vincent, Wesley and Camille, continues to change for the better which is why they also took the opportunity of launching the company’s new logo during the plush gathering. Aside from commemorating its 90 glorious years, the loyal employees of the company namely Eusebio Uy, Luis Sy, Rosalina Santos, Lyndon Johnson Ho and Jackson Ong were also honored to recognize their unwavering efforts in serving the ever-growing conglomerate. SM Investments Corporation vice chairman, Banco de Oro chairman and SM Retails president Tessie Sy-Coson, Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry corporate secretary lawyer Jose Ngaw and Chinese Filipino Business Club chairman emeritus Peter Yu also shared some of their unforgettable moments with the people behind Cobankiat Hardware and how the company has evolved through the years. It was also the perfect moment to celebrate the birthday of one of the pillars of the Cobankiat clan, Atilano Co, who has worked hard to keep the company growing. A stirring performance by the divine diva Zsa Zsa Padilla and an entertaining dance number from the future heirs of the Cobankiat family, Joshua and Andre, entertained the guests during the festivity. Happy 90th anniversary to Cobankiat Hardware! Here’s to the next decades of turning houses to homes! Cheers!
