Go Negosyo empowers MSMEs through countrywide Negosyo seminars
MANILA, Philippines - Inspiring and educating the micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs), Go Negosyo, together with the Department of Trade and Industry, recently conducted its successful Negosyo Seminars (NegoSem) in 12 cities of the country as part of its advocacy in promoting entrepreneurship as an alternative to employment in the country.
Led by its founding trustee Joey Concepcion, the NegoSems cover the topics on mindset, opportunity-spotting, product development, marketing, and finance in order to aid MSMEs in developing further their business plans.
“This was all part of the advocacy of changing the Philippines in becoming an entrepreneurial nation,” said Concepcion. “And the NegoSem was clearly a natural next step in the Go Negosyo journey.”
To date, areas that DTI and Go Negosyo have visited are: Region 10 (Davao City), Region 3 (Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija), Region 4B (Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan), Region 5 (Legazpi City, Albay), Region 2 (Tuguegarao City, Cagayan), National Capital Region-Area 1 (Pasay City), Cordillera Administrative Region (Baguio City, Benguet), Region 1 (Dagupan City, Pangasinan), Region 7 (Cebu City), Region 9 (Zamboanga City), Region 6 (Bacolod City, Negros Occidental), and Region 4A (Taytay, Rizal).
Joining the NegoSems are Go Negosyo’s Angelpreneurs—seasoned speakers, educators, and entrepreneurs who willingly take time off their busy schedules to share their business knowledge and wisdom to aspiring entrepreneurs. These are the likes of Ping Sotto, Dean Pax Lapid, Butz Bartolome, Reuel Virtucio, Marites Dimaculangan, Luis Cruz, Ed Pilapil Jr., Armand Bengco, Glenn Baticados, Randell Tiongson, Paulo Tibig, Henry Tenedero, Cito Beltran, Mylene Abiva, Nonoy Espeleta, Jonas George Soriano, Jay Bernardo, Jorge Wieneke, Eric Villarama, Titos Ortigas, and Benel Lagua.
Furthermore, Go Negosyo added a new forum to their NegoSems, titled Tagumpay Mula Sa Kahirapan, which features inspiring entrepreneurs of different sizes, which is held at the start of the program to set participants’ mood and stir their minds and hearts with stories of triumphs.
Added Concepcion: “Through this forum, we also get to impart actual business experiences, especially on how entrepreneurs were able to grow their businesses, their best practices, and strategies that worked for them. And these stories are able to maximize the knowledge that participants take away from the NegoSem.”
Currently, other advocates that helped Go Negosyo in reaching more regions include the National Livelihood Development Corporation (NLDC), Land Bank of the Philippines, the President’s Social Fund, Citibank Savings, BPI Family Savings Bank, PLDT SME Nation, and Smart Communications.
