Public school kids to benefit from SM Science Discovery Center's gift back event
Every child has a right to a good education and to help some of them learn more about science and technology in a fun and interactive environment, SM Science Discovery Center will open its doors to public school students who come from low-income families this Holiday Season through project Gift Back Event.
Gift Back Event will take place on December 17, 2008 and it aims to provide an invaluable opportunity for kids who come from less privileged backgrounds to explore the wonderful world of science. This act of goodwill affirms SM Science Discovery Center’s belief in empowering the Filipino child through science education and knowledge building.
At the SM Science Discovery Center, the kids will be given a fantastic tour of our ten galleries with over 400 exhibits of scientific wonders. The tour will surely stimulate their curiosity about the different facets and fields of science: virtual worlds, robotic technology, marine life, telecommunications, time capsule, and astronomy! Such experience will truly open their eyes and imagination to the limitless possibilities of science.
“This project allows disadvantaged students to experience a highly interactive way to learn and appreciate science and technology. We hope this project will spark the children’s interest in the field and the positive experience will make them want to become outstanding scientists in the future so they can help our country advance in the field of science and research,” says Mr. A.R. Riparip, Marketing Manager of SM Science Discovery Center.
SM Science Discovery Center is located at Southside Entertainment Mall, Mall of Asia. The center has over 400 exhibits in 10 exciting galleries to explore including the country’s only state-of-the art Digistar Planetarium! The center’s operating hours are from 10am to 10pm daily. If you want to find out more about the Gift Back Event or if you have other queries, you may visit the center’s website at www.smsciencediscovery.com or call (02) 556-2153.
