In its latest campaign, Citi is not just promising world class banking to clients — it is offering them the chance to see the best the globe has to offer — all for free.
Dubbed Wonders of Time, the promotion gives Citibank and Citibank Savings depositors the chance to experience an unforgettable holiday in the Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, Chichen Itza in Mexico, Christ Redeemer in Brazil, Colosseum in Italy, Great Wall in China, Machu Picchu in Peru, Petra in Jordan or the Taj Mahal in India.
According to Citibank Philippines’ Agustin Davalos, director for Retail Banking, the campaign was inspired by the sophisticated lifestyles of their clients. ”We wanted to offer something that is their heart’s desire, a prize that they will truly enjoy and what could be better than traveling to the world’s choicest destinations?”
He added: “The campaign is also interactive, as it gives the winners the freedom to choose where they will go. All eight choices are equally attractive, each with their unique offering.”

For an exciting Egyptian adventure, the Pyramid of Giza in Egypt is a wonder worth visiting with structures that are truly a marvel of architectural prowess. The oldest and only Ancient Wonder still standing, the Great Pyramid is a testimony to perfection in art and design. The Colosseum in Rome, on the other hand, gives a glimpse of ancient Rome and is considered an architectural and engineering wonder, a proof of both the grandeur and the cruelty of the Roman world. Those who want to discover the treasure of ancient Jordan should visit Petra, the rock-carved, rose-red city admired for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels.
Asia is home to two astonishing world wonders: The Great Wall in China, the world’s largest man-made structure and the only structure visible from space, and The Taj Mahal in India, which has been called by travelers from all over as the world’s most beautiful building ever and regarded as the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India.
The Latin Americas offer three of the world’s wonders: Chichen Itza in Mexico, the famous pyramids of the Mayan civilization, which was the center of political, economic, religious, and military power in the entire southeastern part of Mesoamerica; Machu Picchu in Peru, the city built on the Andes Mountains, which was believed to be a royal estate and religious retreat of the Incan civilization; and Christ the Redeemer Statue in Brazil, an imposing structure that reflects the Brazilians’ affinity to the Catholic faith and an iconic monument that remains one of the most beloved year-round tourist attractions in Brazil.
The Wonders of Time promotion started in March 24 and will run until June 30, 2008. Three Citibank depositors and three Citibank Savings depositors will each win roundtrip tickets with 4-day, 3-night accommodations for two to any of these famous wonders.
