Nescafé, the worlds favorite coffee brand, once again took a lead in its category by holding the global premiere of a new and innovative product that promotes wellness.
Nescafé Protect, a pure instant coffee with three times more antioxidants than green tea, was recently launched at the Nature Spa in Tagaytay City before a select list of Manilas social celebrities and the media. This breakthrough coffee is a testament to Nescafes commitment to product excellence and innovation.
Bruno Olierhoek, business executive manager for the Coffee Business Unit of Nestlé Philippines, Inc., explains that Nescafe Protect is the companys answer to the trend towards wellness among consumers worldwide.
"Coffee has been known to increase alertness and improve memory but it has only been recently that researchers have acknowledged coffee as a rich source of antioxidants. As a leading player in the coffee industry worldwide, Nescafé has long recognized the health and wellness concerns of consumers," says Olierhoek.
Olierhoek likewise expressed excitement about the health benefits of Nescafé Protect by citing a study showing that 90 percent of adult Filipinos are coffee drinkers.
"This suggests that coffee is a significant source of antioxidants in the Filipino diet just as it is in other parts of the world. Were extremely glad that Nescafé Protect can boost antioxidant levels from coffee consumption even further," he added.
Manufactured using a proprietary technology developed in Switzerland to preserve the maximum amount of antioxidants naturally found in green coffee beans, Nescafé Protect is the first of a series of healthful products the company will soon launch.
Nestlé Philippines Inc. President, Nandu Nandkishore said these products are part of a Nescafe transformation from a food and beverage company to a nutrition, health and wellness company.
"Nescafé Protect is a breakthrough coffee product for Nestlé worldwide and the Philippines is the first country we are sharing this development with," said Nandkishore.
"We are very optimistic that the public, particularly those who are constantly on the lookout for health-oriented products, will enjoy the goodness of Nescafé Protect. The fact that it gives us three times more antioxidants than green tea is already a very strong reason to drink Nescafé Protect," added Olierhoek.
The milestone product launch was dubbed the Nescafé Protect Body Camp. Notable guests such as designer Kate Torralba, social entrepreneur Illac Diaz, top model Isabelle Diaz-Daza, beauty queen and fashion columnist Gionna Cabrera, make-up artist Gigi Uson of Shu Uemura, television host Dr. Dean Torno of RxMen (QTV 11), disc jockey Mojo Jojo of Magic 89.9, fashion photographers Sara Black, society columnist Amiel Cabanlig, socialite Stephanie Yu, and fashion editor Patrick Ty of Mega Magazine were treated to spa treatments, personal diet consultations, as well as belly-dancing, Capoeira, and Qi Gong demonstrations.
Hosted by Sam Oh of cable television show Rated Oh!, the event also served as a forum for Nestlé Philippines, Inc. executives to answer queries about Nescafe Protect and note feedback.
Nescafé Protect is now available in supermarkets nationwide. For more information on Nescafé Protect, call the Nestlé Consumer Hotline at 8980061.
