Globe Telecom, true to its innovative and service-oriented philosophy, has taken groundbreaking steps to bring the power of mobile phone technology closer to the countryside.
The telecommunications giant has partnered with the Rural Bank Association of the Philippines (RBAP) to launch a specialized financing program that enables rural based consumers to purchase affordable and value-laden phonekits through reasonable installment terms.
The bold move coincides with the Globe Telecoms objective of democratizing mobile communications to address both personal and business needs of the particular market segment.
The phonekit financing scheme is targeted to benefit farmers, fishermen, blue-collar workers, school teachers, and small enterprise proprietors.
The Globe-Rural Bank tie-up makes it possible for these individuals to avail a loan from participating rural banks to purchase prepaid phonekits from Globe.
The loan is payable in installments within a six-month period. The flexible amortization schedule gives borrowers the option to pay on a weekly or monthly basis, following standard rural banks interest rates. Owing a new cellphone has never been easier. In addition to these, consumers will get free load credits for every unit they avail as well as upon successfully paying off the loan.
Lizanne Uychaco, Globe Telecom Sales and Distribution head, says, "Globe is determined to serve more consumers by reaching out and encompassing the whole market spectrum, particularly those situated outside urban areas. This pioneering effort was launch with the aim of empowering the countryside population by providing them a viable financing scheme to obtain brand new phones and better-value SIMs. There are many advantages that can be gleaned from mobile phone ownership and Globe is working hard to create wider access to these for as many people as possible."
The current undertaking closely follows Globes corporate responsibility of expanding its service and providing new and serviceable handsets to consumers in the rural areas. With its growing partnership with the RBAP, Globe Telecom endeavors to harness the immense potential of communication and technology to assist and improve the lives of Filipinos nationwide.
