Quedancor bags P500M UCPB facility

Quedan and Rural Credit Guarantee Corp. president Nelson Buenaflor is more often found in the provinces than in Metro Manila, much less in Makati. But go to Makati Mr. Buenaflor did to sign a P500 million credit facility with United Coconut Planters Bank president and chief executive officer Jose Querubin.

The facility will finance Quedancor’s program for government employees who want to take out a salary loan to finance an agri-based business.

So important is the facility in Quedancor’s objective of generating livelihood and income opportunities in the countryside that Mr. Buenaflor’s boss, Agriculture Secretary Luis Lorenzo, Jr., turned up for the signing of the memorandum of agreement. – MJGrey
