UK trade envoy visits the British Chamber
TAGUIG CITY, Philippines — Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to the ASEAN Richard Graham visited the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines office on Wednesday, The courtesy call highlighted internal discussions for the UK-Philippines trade relations and recent updates from the British Chamber.
Graham was accompanied by the British Embassy Manila’s Director of Trade and Investment Lindsey Gilbert-Crouch and his Private Secretary Sara Wheeler.
He met the Board Members Vice Chair Sarah McLeod, Executive Director and Trustee Chris Nelson, and Trustees Murray Robertson and Craig Smith.
The British Chamber shared updates on the Philippine economy, the significant increase in the British pork supply through 2022 trade missions with the UK’s AHDB, various media engagements and initiatives to further liberalize the market, and supported amendments for economic legislation that led to the published IRR of RTLA, FIA, and PSA.
Further, Nelson mentioned the recent ratification of RCEP in the Philippines and the success of the Great British Festival last month. To continue the momentum, the British Chamber highlighted the 2023 objectives, particularly in promoting the British presence through UK companies investing in the Philippines.
