SSS opens more branches in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines -  Around 22,000 members of the Social Security System (SSS) in Sta. Mesa, Paco, Pandacan, and Sta. Ana in Manila will have easier access to its services with its additional office inaugurated last month at the J&T bldg. along Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard corner Santol Extension Road in Sta. Mesa, Manila. SSS senior vice president for NCR Operations Group Jose B. Bautista said the branch is expected to encourage workers in the area to join the government pension fund. Based on the latest Labor Force Survey, a total of 269,649 workers; or 64 percent of the total population of Sta. Mesa, Paco, Pandacan, and Sta. Ana; are members of the working population. SSS Sta.Mesa branch issues SSS number; accepts and processes applications on salary loan, as well as claims on retirement, disability, funeral and death including sickness notification. It also has a UMID Data Capture Station. Pensioners can also visit the branch to comply with the annual confirmation of pensioners to continue receiving their monthly pension. To date, there are 3,244 employers and 22,634 employees in the areas of Sta. Mesa, Paco, Pandacan, and Sta. Ana, which will be served by the SSS Sta. Mesa branch. The SSS will continue to open additional branches this year with five new branches and five service offices in the pipeline this year. To date, SSS has 264 offices across the Philippines located in NCR (61); Luzon (119); Visayas (41), and Mindanao (43).
