Globe, Visa offer mobile payment apps

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Charge, Globe Telecom’s revolutionary mobile payment card reader and mobile application, is expanding payment options with its partnership with Visa International.

The mobile application can turn Android and iOS devices into a point-of-sale (POS) payment card terminal.

The collaboration allows Globe Charge merchants to accept Visa credit and debit card payments on their iOS and Android-powered smartphones and tablets without a need for a traditional payment card terminal.

G-Xchange Inc. president Paolo Baltao said that the partnership with Visa International provides more payment options for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) using Globe Charge, effectively growing their customer base, and in the long run, their businesses.

The Globe Charge mobile app in iOS and Android devices enables business owners to create their merchant accounts, activate their smartphones and tablets, create accounts for their employees, and use the Globe Charge Mobile Card Reader, the device plugged into the audio jack of supported smartphones and tablets which reads MasterCard and Visa cards.

With Globe Charge, entrepreneurs and professionals need not worry about monthly transaction requirements.

Globe Charge works easily and conveniently with Wifi or mobile data, with no data charges for Globe and TM SIMs.

In order to use Globe Charge, a merchant needs to have the following: Android or iOS device; a Globe or TM SIM card with a GCash account; the Globe Charge Mobile Card Reader; the Globe Charge mobile app, downloadable from Google Play or the App Store.
