UCPB plays host to ISOG

MANILA, Philippines - The United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) hosted the ceremonial signing of Information Security Officers Group (ISOG) Articles of Incorporation last July 7. ISOG is a non-stock, non-profit organization established by the information security leaders of China Banking Corp., Development Bank of the Philippines, Land Bank of the Philippines, Philippine Bank of Communications, Philippine Savings Bank, Networld Capital Ventures, Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. and the UCPB. The signing was held at the UCPB boardroom with UCPB president and chief executive officer Jeronimo Kilayko and executive vice president and chief information officer Ramon Tañafraca welcoming the group and expressing their support. With the guidance and support of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Deputy Director Raymond Estioko, the group was formed last March with the primary purpose of strengthening information security among financial institutions in the Philippines.  ISOG will provide its members a venue to exchange ideas and expertise on information security best practices. The organization also aims to establish a common InfoSec training and awareness program for all its members.
