BPI bags best payment product award

MANILA, Philippines - The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) won an award recently from The Asian Banker for the Best Payments Product in Asia for its revolutionary card, the BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard. BPI My ePrepaid MasterCard opened the e-commerce industry to a wider, more diverse set of digital consumers. This fast-emerging industry, spurred by airline tickets purchases, online hotel bookings, and a growing number of online shops, has previously only depended on credit card payments and virtual currency holders. The Asian Banker’s International Excellence in Retail Financial Services Award Programme uses a stringent three-month long evaluation process to determine the winners of each category based on a balanced and transparent scorecard. In particular, the Best Payments Product award is given to the bank whose product has shown exceptional merit in terms of market share, growth, overall product and operational excellence during the year.
