PLIA elects new board

MANILA, Philippines - Fortune Life executive vice president and general manager Evelyn T. Carada has been elected president of the Philippine Life Insurance Association (PLIA) with Generali Pilipinas Life president and chief executive officer Renato A. Vergel de Dios as vice president. Elected treasurer is First Life Financial president and chief executive officer Peter G. Coyiuto with United Life senior vice president Benjamin C. Ljm as secretary. The rest of the board members are: BPI-Philam Life president and chief executive officer Ariel G. Cantos; Country Bankers Life senior vice president Geraldine Desidero-Garcia; CLIMBS Life president and chief executive officer Fermin L. Gonzales; PNB Life president and chief executive officer Esther C. Tan; and, United Coconut Planters Life president Alfredo C. Tumacder Jr. PLIA is the only trade organization of the country’s life insurance industry.
