Bancnet connection

MANILA, Philippines - One Network Bank (ONB), the country’s largest rural bank with 98 branches, has finally connected all its automated teller networks (ATMs) to BancNet, the country’s largest electronic banking network. Thus, ONB’s 588,000 ATM cardholders can now pay through more billers, buy prepaid load through any BancNet ATM, and transfer funds to accounts in more banks. These are in addition to the usual ATM cash withdrawals and payment for purchases at over 20,000 stores and shops. Two other rural banks in Mindanao joined BancNet recently: Cagayan de Oro-based South Bank and Rural Bank of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental. BancNet has 114 members and affiliates, 11,225 ATMs and over 32 million ATM cardholders. In photo are: (from left) ONB director Antonio Cabreira Jr., ONB vice chairman Antonio Avelino.
