Philam Life agency, FA network expand

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - For the first five months of 2013, Philippine American Life and General Insurance Co. (Philam Life) had matched its total number of recruits for the whole 2012.

Out of 8,977 that attended the Business Opportunity Program (BOP), 6,268 agreed to pursue a career with Philam Life. Currently, the life insurer has 2,499 licensed financial advisors (FAs). Its total sales agency force meanwhile stood at 6,000.

Philam Life chief agency officer Ariel G. Cantos said that the program is part of the insurer’s way of providing the agency support by providing agents with new training facilities, advanced sales tools, and enhanced travel incentives.

“We are investing so much to support our financial advisors because we believe that the reason why Philam Life continues to be strong and trusted is because of our agency force,” Cantos added.

At the roadshows of the BOPs, held in different hotels all over the country, Philam Life explains the essence of being a financial advisor and the perks of choosing to be with the company.

Recently, Philam Life invested in putting up the Premiere Agency Center – a fully equipped training and development center for its financial advisors located at the Bonifacio Global City.

The insurer also created a iPad software for instant policy application; and it enhanced its travel incentives for its advisors, taking more than 800 of them to Hong Kong, and soon to Vietnam and Philadelphia, USA.

According to Cantos, the environment is conducive to what they are doing. The increase in income and insurance awareness greatly helped in augmenting the opportunities of the business.

“We always say that we want to double our agency force. But even if we double it, we also look at the opportunities. Our only limit is our capability to execute our plans,” the chief agency officer said.

Philam Life’s BOP’s were recently held in Dagupan, Ipil, Makati, Cabanatuan, Davao City, Tagum, Bulacan, Cebu City, Batangas City, General Santos, and Zamboanga City.

It will likewise be held in Vigan on June 11, Tacloban on June 14, San Pablo and Naga on June 15 and Cavite City and Greenhills, San Juan on June 22.
