New BancNet board

MANILA, Philippines - Electronic banking consortium BancNet has elected Abigail Del Rosario of Standard Chartered Bank as chairman of the board and Robert Blas of Citibank as president for 2013-2014. The rest of the board are: Carmelita R. Araneta (Bank of Commerce), George P. Castro (Philippine Trust Co.), Ricardo R. Chua (China Banking Corp.), Joseph B. Estavillo (Chinatrust Philippine Commercial Bank), Jovencio DB. Hernandez (Philippine National Bank), Ma. Theresa M. Jesudason (Development Bank of the Philippine), Eriene C. Lao (Philippine Bank of Communications), Mark B. Perez (Metropolitan Bank & Trust Corp.), Wilfredo E. Rodriquez Jr. (Asia United Bank), Ismael R. Sandig (Rizal Commercial Banking Corp.), Manuel C. Tagaza (Bank of the Philippine Islands), Marilyn M. Tiongson (Land Bank of the Philippine), and Daniel U. Yu (Security Banking Corp.). The board of advisers are Ralph B. Cadiz (Sterling Bank of Asia), Jesus Vicente O. Garcia (Veterans Bank), Lance A. Martinez (HSBC), Alan David C. Matutina (Equicom Savings Bank), Dennis I. Paredes (Robinsons Bank), and Gerardo Susmerano (East West Bank). BancNet currently has 109 members, including two affiliate switch networks. It also has the biggest ATM network which counts more than 10,000 ATMs, comprising 76 percent of all the ATMs in the country.
