New Pru Life UK chairman

MANILA, Philippines - British life insurer Pru Life UK has appointed Henry Joseph M. Herrera as new chairman of the board replacing Bobby G. Madrid who retired after decades of service. Prior to his new position, Herrera was a member of the company’s board of directors and chairman of the Audit Committee since June 2010. He is also a faculty member of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and is a director at the ATR KimEng Family of Mutual Funds. He was president and chief executive officer of Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Inc. from January 2007 to July 2009. He is a fellow of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines, a member of the International Actuarial Association and the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines. Herrera is a statistics cum laude graduate of the University of the Philippines, and has also accomplished courses at the AIM, the Wharton Graduate School of Business, and the Harvard School of Business.
