China Bank EZ Pay offers fast, secure way to pay taxes

-

MANILA, Philippines - Paying taxes is now made easier with the help of China Bank EZ Pay, a payment kiosk found in several branches of China Banking Corp.

These self-serve kiosks are installed at high-traffic branches to complement China Bank’s electronic banking services. Designed to make paying taxes fast and convenient, transactions through China Bank EZ Pay kiosk are completed in 30 seconds to a maximum two minutes. The machine accepts both cash and check payments.

Initially, China Bank EZ Pay kiosks process and accept individual and corporate tax payments. Within the year, other billers will be added to the roster, including utilities and other institutions.

China Bank vice president Owen S. Maramag explained that paying taxes though the kiosk is fast, easy, and secure. “The touch-screen interface is very user-friendly that it’s almost like using an ATM. At the end of the transaction, the taxpayer gets a receipt as confirmation of his payment.”

To pay taxes at the kiosk, a taxpayer must first get the tax payment envelopes (set of two) from the bank’s customer service associate, fill out the required information, and enclose the cash or check inside the envelope. He then must proceed to the EZ Pay kiosk, touch the screen, follow the on-screen prompts and key-in the required information, drop the envelope, and insert the BIR form in the printer slot. The machine will validate the form and will print a receipt. The taxpayer must take both the validated BIR form and the transaction receipt.

To date, China Bank has five EZ Pay kiosks – at Makati main, Banawe in Quezon City and Marikina branches, which became operational last May 14, and at Kalookan and Ayala-Alabang branches, which will go live in June. In the pipeline are five more China Bank EZ Pay kiosks for deployment in Metro Manila branches.

China Bank offers a wide range of financial products and services through more than 240 branches. Complementing this vast branch network are convenient and secure electronic banking channels for day and night banking service – China Bank TellerCard ATM, China Bank Online (mobile and Internet banking), and China Bank TellerPhone (phone banking). The bank also recently launched China Bank WebTalk, the country’s first internet-to-phone call service offered by a bank.
