Pioneer subsidiary gets award

MANILA, Philippines - Blue Cow Co. Inc. was awarded an Anvil Award of Merit at the recent 45th Anvil Awards. It was cited for its novel initiative “Teaching Kids How to Save” with the Private Iris comic book series created by Jamie Bautista and Arnold Arre.

Blue Cow is a member of the Pioneer group that includes Pioneer Insurance, Pioneer Life and Pioneer Intercon, The Private Iris series, which features Pioneer Life’s sachet savings and insurance card for kids called SPARX, was launched almost two years ago and has released nine issues to date. 

As part of the program teaching the value of saving, the Private Iris team conducted comic book tours and money sense clinics in over 80 schools, completed over 30 full-house bookstore engagements, bringing the comic book’s reader base to 60,000 children.
