HSBC head relocates in Hong Kong

-

MANILA, Philippines - HSBC Group chief executive Michael Geoghegan will now be based at the HSBC main building in Central Hong Kong from London.

The move reflects HSBC Group strategy to focus on emerging market and the unique international connectivity that HSBC’s global network offers its over 100 million customers globally.

“This is a key market for HSBC in our most strategically important region. One where we see tremendous opportunities, as many if not more as when HSBC was first founded in Hong Kong and Shanghai 144 years ago,” he said. Geoghegan is also the chairman of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. Ltd., succeeding Vincent Cheng, who remains a member of the board of HSBC Holdings plc and Chairman of HSBC Bank (China) Co., and HSBC Taiwan.
