Mobile phone banking now on video
MANILA, Philippines - The Microenterprise Access to Banking Services (MABS) program has released instructional videos on the advantages of mobile banking phone service (MBPS). The videos are available in English, Tagalog and Visayan versions and are currently uploaded on the Mobile Phone Banking website for rural banks and their clients.
Videos can also be downloaded or linked directly from Youtube. Production of the videos was made possible with support from the United States Agency for International Development-Philippines (USAID-Philippines).
Under the partnership between the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP) and Globe Telecom’s mobile commerce subsidiary, G-Xchange Inc. (GXI), MABS developed and rolled out MBPS initiatives that provide rural banking clients access to complete banking transactions using only their mobile phones and the GCASH platform.
Each of the MBPS include making micro-loan payments (Text-A-Payment), paying bills (Text-A-BillPayment), making deposits (Text-A-Deposit) and withdrawals (Text-A -Withdrawal), sending or receiving domestic or international remittances (Text-A-Remittance), disbursing and receiving salaries (Text-A-Sweldo), and accepting mobile payments to buy and sell goods.
