Rang-ay Bank opens 18th branch

-

Rang-ay Bank will formally open its Tagudin, Ilocos Sur branch next week bringing its total branch network to 18. The new branch is located at barangay Magsaysay at the corner of the national highway and Rizal St.

Rang-ay Bank president and chief executive officer Ives Q. Nisce said that the new branch is proof of the bank’s aspiration to reach as many people in the countryside of Region 1 and 2.

“We will bring modern banking services closer to them,” Nisce said.

The rural bank has in fact five branches in the Ilocos Sur province prior to the Tagudin branch. The five branches are located in Sta. Cruz, Magsingal, Burgos, Vigan, and Candon.

Nicse said that unlike majority of the commercial banks that siphon their funds back to their respective head offices it Metro Manila, Rang-ay plows back funds into the two regions.

“Rang-ay channels the funds it generates in communities in operates creating new enterprises, new opportunities, new jobs and wealth among the people in the countryside,” he said.

It is the one of the biggest taxpayers in the province of La Union (where its head office is located) in the past two years.

The Tagudin branch will offer full banking services including deposits, loans, foreign and domestic remittances, mobile phone banking, including servicing pensions from members of the Social Service System (SSS).

The bank is the largest rural bank in the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, in terms of gross assets, total deposits and capital accounts.            –TPT
