Metrobank extends service to clients during the holidays

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank), the country's leading bank announced that close to 300 selected branches nationwide will be open to serve the banking public during the long holiday break from December 25, 2008 to January 1, 2009.

Selected Metrobank branches will be open from December 24, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, and January 1, 2009. December 24, 2008 is a regular banking day.

Strategically located branches in Metro Manila and major hubs including Vigan, Tuguegarao, Baguio, Tarlac, San Fernando Pampanga,  Dagupan, Calamba, Cavite, Legaspi and Naga in   Luzon; Cebu, Iloilo, Dumaguete and other provinces in the Visayas; and in Davao, General Santos, Iligan, Zamboanga, and other localities in Mindanao. The schedules of opening the selected branches including their special banking hours will be posted at the Metrobank branch premises to inform the public accordingly.  

During the holidays when Metrobank branches are open, clients can do cash or check deposit transactions, and selected bills payments. Pre-arranged deposit pick up services will also be available.  To provide more convenience for its millions of customers, Metrobank ATMs all over the country are available for easy access to cash, particularly useful for holiday shoppers plus complete bills payment facilities. Customers can also use the Metrophone banking and metrobankdirect internet banking for other bank  transactions.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas gave banks an option to open during holidays to serve the public. Malacañang declared December 26, 29, and 31 as special non-working holidays, creating an eight-day break at the end of the year.
