Metrobank opens tax payment facility

Clients of the Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) can now enjoy the convenience and the security of paying taxes through its online tax payment facility called Taxdirect.
Companies, professionals, and other taxpayers, which are required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to file income tax returns through its Electronic Filing and Payment System (EFPS) and remit tax payments through its authorized agent banks (AABs), can now do so through Taxdirect.
Taxdirect is a system designed to complement the BIRs EFPS that allows Metrobank clients the flexibility of paying 13 different taxes online without the hassles of rushing to beat deadlines and filing up forms.
With the facility, there is no need to type company data every time the next schedule of tax payment arrives. Once the returns are filed through EFPS, the information needed for payment through Taxdirect is automatically pre-filed. The company can then remit payments through on-line debit from its account.
A company needs only to enroll its Metrobank account to BIRs EFPS. Once done, it can easily manage its enrolled accounts such as add or delete deposit accounts from which tax payments should be deducted.
Taxdirect has simple navigational tools and instantly provides a confirmation page and transaction acknowledgment page upon every payment transaction.
Security is guaranteed with the facilitys multi-layered security system. The secure sockets layer encryption and built-in firewalls plus, no less than the leading web security expert, Verisign, secure the website. Customer access also follows an intricate and multi-layer verification system.
A taxpayer may enroll, inquire, and change login information through the facility, which has a payment instruction processor that interfaces with the EFPS.
Enrollment in and usage of the facility are free of charge.
