Quezon City Conscience Bloc has strongly opposed the ordinance requiring banks and other financial establishments in QC to construct a separate covered or unseen counters intended for depositors and/or withdrawers of large amounts of money.
Dante M. de Guzman, one of the pillars of the Conscience Bloc instead proposed that further dialogue of the ordinance and consultation with financial institutions.
De Guzman said a consultation on the proposal is imperative because of the sensitivity of the subject. He said banking activities are governed by the General Banking Act and this matter falls within the realm of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
