TNT employees plant mangroves

-

MANILA, Philippines - TNT Express, one of the world’s largest delivery companies, recently partnered with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) Coastal and Marine Management Division of Cebu in rehabilitating mangrove coastlines by planting 2,000 mangrove saplings at Brgy. Sta Rosa, Olango Island , Lapu-Lapu City , Cebu .

The mangrove planting activity was initiated as an effort to help address climate change and bring back the ecological benefits of mangroves, such as protecting the shore and estuaries from storm waves, erosion and tsunamis, and providing nursing and feeding grounds for fishes and other marine life. The environmental activity is an extension of TNT’s global Planet Me initiative that engages employees to adopt and participate in activities that protect the environment.
