Pollution control officers training, accreditation set

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) NCR and the Water Environment Association of the Philippines (WEAP) Inc. will conduct a “Basic Training Course for the New Pollution Control Officers (PCO)” on March 10-13 at Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon Ave., Quezon City.

The four-day seminar will orient the prospective PCOs on the different environmental laws and their corresponding rules and regulations, EMB policies and programs and PCO duties and responsibilities.

Director Roberto Sheen will spearhead the training to enable the industries to improve their environmental management, pollution prevention and cleaner production. Successful participants will be formally accredited by the DENR-EMB as pollution control officers to help companies and industries on their anti-pollution programs.
