Real estate, environmental planning course opens January
The Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Associations (CREBA) through its academic committee, in consortium with the De la Salle College of Saint Benilde School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE), will offer its third module of the diploma program in real estate management entitled “Real Estate and Environmental Planning.” The module starts on January until Feb. 28, 2009. Prof. Roque A. Magno, former Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) commissioner is overall program director.
The topics are introduction to environmental planning, land use planning concepts, human settlements, and the Comprehensive Land Use Program (CLUP); water supply and sanitation; solid waste management, public domain utilization and protected areas; transportation, traffic and infrastructure management; strategic plan-ning on an urban planning context; Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) requirements on environmental compliance, impact systems and assessment and the EGGAR; the Philippine planning system and implementation; and the urban planning practice and profession. Classes will be held at the ninth floor of the CSB School of Design and Arts campus art 950 Pablo Ocampo St., Malate, Manila from 1 to 7 p.m.
Before joining the HLURB, Magno was DENR assistant secretary, deputy assistant minister of the Ministry of Human Settlements (MHS), and fellow/program director of the Department of Academy of the Philippines (DAP). He is a professional lecturer at the School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP) of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
Awarded most outstanding professional in the field of environmental planning by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in 2006, Magno is president and vested with the rank of fellow of the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners (PIEP).
