Smart takes part in Gensan’s Tuna Festival
Smart is flying the rock band Kamikazee, who composed the wacky Smart Buddy jingle “Me na Me“, for a free concert at the Oval Plaza on Sept. 5, the Tuna festival’s culmination day, Smart media liaison Haydee Bernabe said.
“We are proud to be Gensan’s partner in the celebration of the Tuna Festival, and we are excited to continue contributing to the prosperity of this city,” Mon Isberto added.
Gensan, the economic hub of the Soccsksargen growth area, is one of the country’s most competitive medium-sized cities, with business investments from both here and abroad pump-priming its economy.
The yearly Tuna Festival puts in focus the main product of Gensan, the tuna, and one of its people’s major livelihood, fishing. For its 10th incarnation, the festival theme is: A decade of FISH-tivities and opporTUNAties.
Opening on Aug. 31, the festival will wind up on Sept. 5 with a Tuna Festival Float Parade.
“ This year’s celebration promises to be the biggest tuna festival ever,” said Gensan Mayor Pedro Acharon Jr.
