Real estate, environmental planning course set

-

Real estate and environmental planning will be the third module of a continuing post-baccalaureate diploma program of De La Salle-College of St. Benilde School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE) and the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Associations (CREBA). It is set on Jan. 26 and every succeeding Saturday until March 1.

Roque A. Magno, overall program director, said the topics are introduction to environmental planning, land use planning concepts: CLUP; water supply and sanitation, solid waste management, public domain utilization and protected areas, transportation and infrastructure, strategic planning: urban planning context; ECC, EIS, EIA and EGGAR, and Philippine Planning System.

Successful communities and progressive societies, the program sponsors stressed, owe much to efficient formulation of plans right at the early stages of development. A well-made and implemented plan mirrors cohesion among man’s external environments, ranging from cultural disciplines, politics, societal norms, economics, necessities, and similar factors approached at micro, middle and macro levels of concern.

The module is designed for developers, landowners, city planning officers, architects, engineers and other professionals in related fields. Facilitators for the topics are recognized professionals from the academe, private practice and related government agencies.

Magno is a former commissioner for planning, Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), former assistant secretary, Department of Environment and Natural Resources; professorial lecturer, UP School of Urban and Regional Planning; awardee as Most Outstanding Professional in the Field of Environmental Planning, Professional Regulation Commission, 2006; and  fellow, Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners.

The program will be held from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the CSB School of Design & Arts Bldg., Pablo Ocampo (formerly Vito Cruz) St., Malate, Manila. Fee is P9,000 for CREBA members and government officers and employees; P9,950 for non-members, and five percent discounts for a group of DLSU alumni and faculty staff. Call CREBA at 373-2270 to 73 or DLS-CSB 400-5425 or 7405; or email  [email protected].
