Foreign techs pouring in to boost RP farm supply chain

Modern equipment and feed manufacturers from Europe and Asia are bringing in their finest stuffs to help boost the Philippines farm supply chain.
They include equipment makers Pas Reform of the Netherlands, Kasetphand Industry Co. Ltd of Thailand, ATK Group and Fujian Lianjie Co. Ltd of China, and feed manufacturers CJ Corp. of Korea and Cargill of the United States, among others.
Pas Reform has been developing innovative hatchery technologies for the poultry sector since 1919. Through decades of research into the biological and physiological aspects of embryo development, Pas Reform has become one of the worlds leading manufacturers of hatchery equipment.
Likewise, Kasetphand is one of the biggest manufacturers of assorted poultry and livestock equipment in Thailand. Among its products are ventilating fans, exhaust pads, chicken coops, tube feeders, day-old chick boxes, grass pads, bite nipples, automatic feeding and nipple drinking systems, and nesting facilities, among many others.
Also manufacturing exhaust fans and ventilation systems, the ATK Group is one of Asias leading suppliers in the past 10 years. ATKs factories in China and Vietnam produce ventilation systems for livestock and poultry houses, including industrial plants and greenhouses.
On the other hand, Fujian Lianjie manufactures Azuki electronic scales from the smallest to the biggest. It scale equipment are used not only in farms, but also in supermarkets and industries.
Represented in the country by CJ Philippines (CJP), Koreas CJ Corp. also operates in Turkey, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The company established CJP in 1996 to introduce to the Philippines the latest scientific and technological advances in healthy and hygienic raising of livestock and environment-friendly manufacturing of animal feeds. CJP was awarded the ISO 902 certification in 1999, ISO 9001-2000 in 2003, and the Philippine Marketing Excellence Award for Best Feed Manufacturer in 2005. The company has a breeding farm and two aqua plants in the Philippines.
On the other hand, Cargill is an international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, food, financial and industrial products and services. Cargill provides distinctive customer solutions in supply chain management, food applications, and health and nutrition.
Headquartered in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota, Cargill operates in the Philippines through Cargill Philippines Inc. (CPI), which produces feed products for hogs, acquatic resources, fowls and poultry. Using state-of-the-art technology, CPI operates three plants in Baliuag and Pulilan in Bulacan, and Villasis in Pangasinan.
All these products, services and technologies will be exhibited at the Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink 2006 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila on Oct. 5 to 7.
Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink make up the countrys biggest and most prestigious annual international trade show on agribusiness, food, and aquaculture.
