Managing agri waste

Know how to manage agricultural wastes and convert them into useful energy like biogas by reading the "Philippines Recommends Agricultural Waste Processing and Management."

This book, published by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD), presents a complete package of information on environmental concerns in managing agricultural wastes, ecological governance, waste processing and management technologies, and socioeconomics and policy considerations. The book also contains specific case examples of waste management efforts in the country and information on converting wastes into useful energy.

Specific types of wastes such as crops and livestock wastes, household and market wastes, and municipal solid wastes are discussed in the book.    

A technical committee composed of experts from PCARRD, the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology—University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture, and School of Environmental Science and Management—UPLB wrote and edited the book.

The Philippine Environmental Governance Project of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-United States Agency for International Development contributed a chapter on Environmental Governance in Waste Management.
