Animal nutritionist to address confab

Animal nutritionist Nestor Tangangco will be one of the key speakers of the forthcoming 11th Annual National Convention organized by the National Federation of Hog Farmers Inc. (NFHFI) on May 24 to 25 at the SM Megratrade Hall, SM Megamall in Ortigas.

In his talk "Implementation of Porcine Solubles in Swine Raising (Benefits of Peptide Nutrition in Piglets)" sponsored by Cledacor Enterprises, Tangangco will discuss how and why protein is one of the more essential nutritional elements for growing pigs. Tangangco is currently the marketing manager of Cledacor Enterprises. He holds a degree in dairy nutrition from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños.

The two-day convention, with the theme "Ginintuang Masaganang Ani sa Pagbababuyan," will gather major agricultural companies, suppliers, breeders and manufacturers of farm equipment, veterinary products and feeds. President Arroyo recently declared the period from May 20 to 26 as Hog Farmers Week in support of the convention. Under Proclamation No. 191, President Arroyo recognizes the role which the hog farming sector plays in accelerating the development of the livestock industry in the country.
