MANILA, Philippines — Italpinas Development Corp. (IDC) has teamed up with licensed power retailer SunShare Philippines Inc. to bring down electricity costs across its real estate developments.

The two companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) outlining a framework to help IDC expand its use of clean energy and manage power expenses.

Under the MOU, IDC and SunShare will design customized rooftop solar systems to optimize energy generation and deliver direct electricity savings to residents, unit owners and homeowners’ associations.

“By partnering with SunShare, Italpinas proves that sustainable, green living is not a luxury reserved for high-end markets but a viable, eco-friendly standard accessible to every Filipino family,” IDC said.

Known for its design-driven properties, IDC is among the pioneers of sustainable real estate developments in the Philippines.

Its entire portfolio is certified under EDGE, a globally recognized green building standard developed by International Finance Corp.

The real estate firm is now bringing its sustainable design approach to the affordable housing market through its wholly owned subsidiary, IDC Homes.

Through its partnership with SunShare, IDC aims to meet the growing demand for affordable housing while advancing its sustainability agenda.

“The dynamic between the two partners is a future-fluent engagement of two current issues: a shortage of affordable housing and the need for cleaner power,” the company said.
