GSIS backs Blancaflor appointment as board chair
MANILA, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is counting on newly appointed board chair Ricardo Blancaflor’s legal and policy expertise to help steer its programs and broaden services for members and retirees.
In a statement, the state insurer said it welcomed Blancaflor as the new chairperson of its board of trustees on June 10, succeeding Rodney del Rosario Jr.
“The GSIS looks forward to working closely with chairperson Blancaflor as we continue to strengthen the fund, expand benefits for our members and pensioners and pursue innovations that improve public service,” GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso said.
Veloso said Blancaflor has the “full support and cooperation” of management and the board as the agency “builds on the gains already achieved and takes the GSIS to even greater heights.”
Blancaflor, who previously served as director general of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, offers a strong record in government service, legal work and policy leadership.
