MANILA, Philippines — Property giant Megaworld Corp. is beefing up its hospitality portfolio with the planned opening of six new hotels in key tourism destinations over the next three years.

To be managed and operated by its hospitality arm, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, the hotels will add close to 2,000 hotel room keys to Megaworld’s existing portfolio.

The six projects in the pipeline are ArcoVia Hotel at ArcoVia City in Pasig; Savoy Capital Town at Capital Town in San Fernando, Pampanga; The Hamptons Hotel at The Hamptons Caliraya in Cavinti, Laguna; Paragua Sands Hotel and Savoy Hotel Palawan at Paragua Coastown in San Vicente, Palawan and The Kingsford at The Upper East in Bacolod City.

Megaworld president and CEO Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso said the company’s goal is to have more than 20 hotels and about 9,000 hotel rooms by the time it reaches its 40th year within the next three years.

“This will further help us unlock big opportunities and continue supporting tourism as a major catalyst of development and economic growth across the country,” she said.

Of the six hotels in the pipeline, two are rising near the beach: Savoy Hotel Palawan and Paragua Sands Hotel within the 462-hectare Paragua Coastown.

The Hamptons Hotel at The Hamptons Caliraya will likewise be situated along the edges of Lake Caliraya.

Megaworld said the other three upcoming hotels are located within its townships, emerging as key central business districts.
