MANILA, Philippines — The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has sealed a P2-billion loan financing agreement with PH1 World Landscapes Inc. to fund the construction of low-cost residential units under the government’s flagship housing program.

In a statement, DBP president and CEO Michael de Jesus said the loan would support the development of 8,360 housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) program, which aims to ease the country’s housing backlog.

“This collaboration is seen to contribute to the fulfillment of the national government’s goals of constructing affordable housing units that would unite families, strengthen communities and generate livelihood opportunities for our countrymen,” he said.

PH1 World Landscapes, part of the Megawide Group, is among the partners of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, which is heading the 4PH program. The company currently has ongoing housing projects in Metro Manila, Bulacan and Cavite.

De Jesus added that the loan would hasten the completion of PH1’s projects in Caloocan City and the cities of Imus and Bacoor in Cavite and is expected to generate additional jobs for more than 1,000 people.

The DBP is the ninth-largest bank in the country, with total assets of P1.041 trillion.

It extends credit support to four priority sectors of the economy, including infrastructure and logistics; micro, small and medium enterprises; the environment and social services and community development.

The state-run bank’s net profit declined by 39.8 percent to P4.28 billion in 2025, according its financial statement.
