Cebu Pacific secures fuel to operate until June
MANILA, Philippines — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) said it has secured enough jet fuel to maintain all domestic and international flights through June 2026, amid concerns of a possible fuel shortage caused by Middle East tensions.
“CEB is working closely with suppliers and industry partners to ensure continued fuel availability in the months ahead and will continue to take proactive measures to maintain stable and sustainable operations,” the airline’s statement read.
On Friday, March 27, Cebu Pacific launched a new seat sale with 750,000 seats available. Passengers can book promo flights for as low as P88 one-way base fare, excluding fees and surcharges, from March 27 to 31, 2026.
Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines announced on March 25 that it has secured enough fuel to maintain its full schedule of domestic and international flights
The announcement came amid threats of a possible fuel shortage amid tensions in the Middle East.
The unrest led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for 20% of the world’s oil supply. The disruption prompted oil firms to raise prices, some exceeding P130 per liter.
On Sunday, Executive Secretary Ralph Recto said the Philippines expects the arrival of 1.04 million barrels of diesel to mitigate the potential fuel shortage.
