MANILA, Philippines — Manulife Investment Philippines has unveiled the Manulife Global Semiconductor Opportunities Equity Feeder Fund, a new unit investment trust fund (UITF) designed to give Filipino investors access to growth opportunities in the semiconductor industry.

The semiconductor fund is a global equity UITF that channels investments into a collective investment scheme, the Target Fund, which aims for capital growth by dedicating at least 70 percent of its assets to top semiconductor companies around the world.

With a commitment to offering forward-looking investment solutions, Manulife president and CEO Aira Gaspar said the fund empowers Filipino investors to participate in one of the most transformative technology trends shaping the global economy.

“As demand for advanced technologies increases, this new UITF provides our customers with access to leading companies driving progress across the semiconductor and artificial intelligence value chain,” she said.

Gaspar added that semiconductors form the foundation of modern innovation, driving artificial intelligence and digital connectivity, which reflects their dedication to providing innovative investment solutions that help Filipinos grow their wealth and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The semiconductor industry is forecast to surpass $1 trillion by 2030, offering investors substantial growth prospects by providing exposure to one of the fastest-growing sectors in the global economy, according to Manulife.

“This strategic approach positions investors to capture growth potential across the semiconductors and artificial intelligence value chain,” the investment firm said.

It added that investors can enter the fund with as little as $100 or P1,000, providing an accessible way to tap into the growth potential of the global semiconductor industry.

Manulife added that the fund is structured for potential long-term capital growth, offering Filipinos additional avenues to build wealth aligned with their individual financial goals and risk tolerance.

“While mega-cap players remain dominant, we believe there are compelling opportunities in under-researched semiconductor companies with differentiated technologies and strong competitive moats,” it said.

The firm added that through active management, the Target Fund can navigate market fluctuations and focus on semiconductor companies poised for long-term growth.
