GCash, Maya, GoTyme among services compatible with Google Pay

MANILA, Philippines — With Google Wallet now available in the Philippines, users can link popular e-wallets like GCash and Maya and seven other banks to their smartphones, turning them into digital cards for convenient "tap-to-pay" transactions.
Available for Android users on the Google Play Store, the app allows Filipinos to link their debit and credit cards, as well as e-wallets, to access the tap-to-pay feature.
During its launch on Tuesday, November 18, Google Pay Philippines confirmed that Google Wallet supports nine Philippine issuers, including Mastercard and Visa credit and debit cards. However, BPI and BDO are not yet supported.
The following partners include:

Beyond the usual QR codes and physical cards, Google Wallet allows Filipinos to pay simply by tapping their smartphones on a terminal, offering a seamless contactless experience.
How to set up the Wallet
Users will only need to enable near field communication (NFC) in their phone’s settings. The NFC allows smartphones and other electronic devices like smartwatches to communicate wirelessly within a short distance using magnetic field induction to transmit data.
To set up Google Wallet, users have to select "payment setup" and set Google Wallet as their default payment app. Then, they can add debit and credit cards supported by Google Pay.
Beyond payment cards, the digital wallet can also hold membership and loyalty cards, gift cards, tickets, passes, keys and IDs. These include flight and train tickets. After booking online, the “Add to Wallet” option may appear.
Google Pay also ensures the wallet’s security by using encrypted payment codes to protect real card numbers during tap-to-pay transactions. Android adds an extra layer of protection with two-step verification and the ability to remotely erase data.
Google Wallet, however, is not available to iOS users, as Apple devices already have the built-in Apple Wallet. Payment methods through Apple Pay are not yet supported in the Philippines, but reports show a potential launch in 2026, especially as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas announced that both Apple Pay and Google Pay can operate without securing registration.
